RESUME 

Born in Brussels in Belgium and of Italian nationality, Emanuela Ponzano is an writer director and actress of cinema.and theatre She lives and works between Rome and Paris. Graduated in Political Science at the Free University of Brussels in 1995 and in Dramatic Art at the Conservatoire of Liègi in Belgium in 2000 (directed by Jacques Delcuvellerie, Groupov, écoles des Maitres).

In the cinematographic field he worked with John Irvin, Philippe Garrel, Maurizio Zaccaro, Giulio Base, René Manzor and studied with the Dardenne brothers, Philippe Blasband, Frédérique Fonteyne and the Strasberg method in Rome with Mickael Margotta and Joseph Ragno, both professors at Actor's Studio, with Vincenzo Attingenti and Susan Batson. In 2006, as director, he was a finalist for the Belgian theatre prize "Jacques Huisman" with Luigi Pirandello's show Sogno (but maybe not). In 2008 he was awarded the Italian National Artistic Prize "Filomena Carrara" for his artistic career and for the show La Più Forte by A.Strindberg - a tribute to Ingmar Bergman - which was staged at the Ambra Jovinelli theatre in Rome the same year.

Also in 2008 he made two short films Bagnasciuga and Riflessi, the latter winner in 2010 of the third edition of the IFF 2010 Short Film Festival as Best Short Film, followed by the Special Prize of Female Critics and the Mention Special at the I'VE SEEN FILMS IFF 2010 by Rutger Hauer in Milan. Also in 2010 he co-directs and co-produces Reminder, promo spot for Save the Children with Enrico Lo Verso.

In 2013 she is in competition as an actress at the 70th Venice Film Festival with Philippe Garrel's film "La Jalousie" starring Louis Garrel and Anna Mouglalis. 

In 2016 she made the fiction short film La Slitta, selected at Nastri d'Argento 2016 and in more than 110 International Festivals with over 40 prizes won.

In 2017 La Slitta qualifies as a candidate for the 2018 Oscars.

In 2018 she realizes social and cultural spots to defend the rights of actors in Italy.

In 2019 she finished shooting the short film "Una nuova prospettiva" with the photography of Daniele Cipri, and it has been presented to the 38 Torino film festival in 2020. The film won 34 awards and has been selected in more than 90 Oscar qualifying, Bafta, EFA International film festival . Nominated to Nastri d"Argento 2021 Italian Critic Award.

She is actually developing her two first feature films .
